Through a lake on dogs

A few last years for tourists, travelling on Baikal in winter, transbaykal’skie transitions are very popular steel—on foot, on pattens, on skates, ice-boats.

We offer to you to cross Pearl of Siberia by another not traditional method—on doggy teams. We dare notarize you, that amount of persons, accomplishing a similar transition, as yet it is possible to count on fingers (trips of our ancestors not in an account). And all because our Center of driver sport—unique not only on Baikal but also in all region.

Day1

Arrival to Irkutsk. Meeting is in airport/railway station. Transfer in the settlement of Listvyanka (70 km from Irkutsk), located ashore lake Baikal at the headwater of Angara river or independent arrival.

On arrival in Listvyanka, placing in the hotel “Baykal”. Rest. After dinner we invite you in Center of Driver sport which is located not far from a hotel for an acquaintance with dogs and instructing. Remaining time can be devoted to the study of sights of settlement, above all things museum of Baikal, Svyatonikol’skoy of church, or it is simple to take a walk on an embankment. Supper at an own expense. Spending the night in the hotel.

Day2

After breakfast collections are in a center driver sport. Output on ice of Baikal. START(*). Dinner on the way on the middle of lake by a dry ration and heat expect from a thermos. After small rest continue a way on the east bank of Baikal

1 in the direction of the station the Tankhoy. As far as approaching to the east side of Baikal, the thickness of snow cover is increased and becomes dogs all more difficult to pull dog sleds. Speed of movement is notedly reduced, but, nevertheless, before dark we approach the station of Tankhoy. Ashore the winter lodging for the night gets organized for dogs and guests. It enables to test on itself all charms of the cold spending the night on ice of lake—that makes a reservation yet to the start from Listvyanki.

* As experience shows, the most difficult is to hold out on dog sleds first a 10 km. At run—it sense of all life of our doggies and first half hours they hold high speed (50 km at o’clock). A bit tired, dogs pass to the measured lynx. Here when it is possible to look around on sides and even to make an effort do a few snapshots. An instructor sits in dog sleds, with which helps you in a management a team, together with you brakes and deviates. In the flow of all way you can switch places with an instructor, if tired or there is a desire to do snapshots from dog sleds.

Day3

Breakfast. Collections. Output back onto the Western side of Baikal on own track. Dinner on the way. Returning to the Listvyanku. Bath—house, handing of certificates. Spending the night in the hotel “Irkutsk”.

Day4

Breakfast. Transfer to Irkutsk.
